"Between flexibility, team spirit and large-scale projects" - Interview with Patrick Quandt, Site Engineer

Get to know the people behind the scenes at EPNE. In this interview, we talk to Patrick Quandt, Site Engineer at EP New Energies.

How long have you been with EPNE and how did you find your way into the team?

I've been part of the EPNE team as a Site Engineer since September 2020. I joined EPNE through working with a current colleague and became one of the first employees in the founding year. But it was not least the impressive project pipeline and the opportunity to play an active role in shaping these pioneering projects that motivated me to become part of this team.

What is special about the tasks you are currently working on?

In my role as a site engineer for yield calculation in the wind and PV sector, I make every project as profitable as possible and thus bring new power to the mining regions. This is not only technically challenging, but also allows me to contribute to a sustainable future.

In your daily work and teamwork, you certainly have many different tasks to organise. How do you organise yourself?

With so many projects and tasks, we rely on structure, prioritisation, and communication - in my opinion, these factors are critical to success. What particularly inspires me, however, is the team spirit. We treat each other with respect, help one another and always find solutions together - whether in a face-to-face meeting or digitally - to steer projects in the right direction. This makes working together as a team much easier and very pleasant.

Where do you see yourself in 2030?

In 2030, I hope to be able to look back on fifteen years of experience in our industry. My goal is to continue to advance the energy transition as an expert, also on the international stage.

What was your most memorable moment during your time at EPNE?

One particularly memorable phase was the final tender round for our first four wind projects in December 2020, where I was able to prepare the relevant results on time and thus make a significant contribution to EPNE's first tenders. In general, we not only evaluate individual projects, but also see the "big picture" and design them in such a way that they complement each other. This still gives me the feeling of being part of something big and emphasises how important our work is for the development of the company. We can make a significant difference here.

If you could describe EPNE in one word, what would it be?

"Ambitious" - in the best sense of the word! Because this word not only reflects the ambition of the company, but also the positive working atmosphere and the shared motivation to achieve great things.
